According to a recent PDA Member Needs Assessment Survey, an overwhelming majority of members, 87 percent, perceive the PDA as the leading advocate for dentistry on legislative and regulatory issues in Pennsylvania, and 78 percent of members agree that PDA is a valuable information resource. Throughout 2006, PDA monitored and commented on regulations proposed by the State Board of Dentistry, including scope of practice and supervision of dental auxiliaries, the licensure examination process, continuing education and professional misconduct in the dental office. In 2007 PDA will continue to lobby strongly for community water fluoridation and other oral health programs that protect the dental profession and provide quality care to patients.

Publications
The bi-monthly Pennsylvania Dental Journal strives to keep members informed on a variety of topics. It contains articles on professional issues, legislative updates, treatment procedures, association activities and special projects and continuing education courses. Transitions, also a bi-monthly publication, delivers breaking news to PDA members between issues of the Journal. Transitions’ clear and concise content keeps members informed of developments in the profession and at PDA.
